If you’re a JDA Parcel customer, listen up. Things with UPS have changed. Effective January 1, 2018, Parcel customers needed to be compliant with TLS 1.2 security standards in order to ensure compliance and continue to use Parcel to process their UPS shipments. The deadline for compliance was December 31, 2017.
If you’re reading this, chances are you missed the deadline. And now you are dealing with the fallout. Maybe you’re still looking to become compliant but don’t know where to start? Is it affecting your operational costs? Were you forced to switch from UPS to another carrier?
Don’t panic! The steps needed to get you back on track depend on what version of JDA Parcel you’re using. Ascension Logistics has the necessary expertise to get you back up and running with UPS.
JDA Parcel versions 2010.1 through 184.108.40.206
If you are using versions 2010.1 through 220.127.116.11, we can help process the necessary support tickets through JDA that will get you the required JDA patches. Then, along with the latest version of UPSLink (19.x), we will implement the patches, new software, perform system tests and go-live.
JDA Parcel versions 2009.2 or earlier
Things are a little more complicated if you are using JDA Parcel versions 2009.2 or earlier. Before you can implement the patches and the new version of UPSLink, you need to migrate to JDA Parcel version 9.1 or higher. Ascension can oversee this migration, and then complete the steps required for compliance.
Migrating away from JDA Parcel to a 3rd Party Application
Another option for all JDA Parcel customers is migrating away from JDA Parcel altogether and implementing another third-party application. JDA Parcel customers will need to do this anyway, as JDA has discontinued development of the Parcel product and is ending support as of December 31, 2018. However, this option might not be the most cost effective right now. It may take precious time to implement – time you don’t have because of UPS compliance requirements. Yet it is something worth considering soon and when you’re ready, Ascension Logistics can help. We’ll help you determine which third-party provider works best for your needs and get you through the implementation process.
Please note that a thorough testing cycle is recommended in all cases and additional services may be required if your environment has been modified. This is another reason to trust the team at Ascension Logistics to get the job done efficiently, expediently, and correctly.
